ESA Automation & Robotics presents its 2025 Sustainability Report. This document illustrates how technology, innovation, and environmental responsibility can be integrated into a concrete path toward sustainable development. The goal is to provide a clear view of our contribution to improving production processes, reducing environmental impact, and creating shared value for employees, customers, and communities.
Environmental sustainability: green innovation and energy management
ESA Automation & Robotics has made environmental sustainability a cornerstone of its industrial strategy. Every solution developed is designed to reduce consumption, emissions, and waste, while ensuring safety and operational efficiency. The Smart Factory vision integrates IoT, AI, and monitoring systems, enabling real-time control of energy consumption and continuous optimization of production processes.
Since 2010, the company has implemented energy-efficiency measures across all its sites, including LED lighting, roof insulation, detection systems, and solar panels. In 2024, the Mariano Comense headquarters produced a total of 99 MW of clean energy, of which 56.5 MW were self-consumed internally, and 42.5 MW were fed into the national grid, while 64.32% of the energy supplied to company sites came from renewable sources.
The Energyaware line, which includes integrated hardware and software solutions, enables the collection of data on consumption and energy peaks, supporting strategic decisions to reduce environmental impact. The analysis of Scope 1 and Scope 2 consumption in accordance with the GHG Protocol made it possible to quantify direct and indirect emissions and to define targeted reduction measures.
Responsible waste management completes the green framework: 13 tons of materials tracked through the Internal Register, applying the CER system and codes for separate waste collection. The adoption of systems such as RENTRI, the National Electronic Register for Waste Traceability, ensures safety, transparency, and proper disposal.
Governance, people, and community
Alongside its environmental commitment, ESA Automation & Robotics invests in economic solidity, transparent governance, and people. The Board of Directors defines strategic guidelines, while Model 231 and the Code of Ethics ensure integrity, compliance, and transparency. The Sustainability Report follows the European Sustainability Reporting Standards, integrating a double materiality analysis to assess external impacts and economic-financial risks.
Human capital is enhanced through continuous training, workplace safety, and employee well-being. Collaboration with educational institutions has enabled the company to host students in PCTO programs for a total of 960 hours, fostering technical and soft skills and integrating young talent into the company team.
ESA also supports social initiatives such as Penna Nera and AISM, promoting inclusion, health, and community cohesion. The supply chain is managed responsibly by selecting suppliers according to objective and sustainable criteria, while cybersecurity protects company and customer data in compliance with GDPR regulations.
With this first Sustainability Report, ESA Automation & Robotics reaffirms its vision: an innovative, solid, and responsible brand, capable of growing without compromising the environment and of generating shared value for all stakeholders.
