ESA introduces the new generation of Maverick single-axis servo drives, designed to meet the demands of Industry 5.0. Combining compactness, power, and versatility, this product is engineered to deliver high performance, maximum reliability, and advanced control for industrial machinery.
New Maverick Single-Axis Servo Drive: Compact Performance and Versatility
ESA expands its industrial automation solutions with the Maverick single-axis servo drive, tailored for the precision, flexibility, and performance needs of the smart factory. Compatible with both synchronous and asynchronous motors, this drive stands out for its excellent dynamic response, high operational reliability, and broad applicability across various industrial sectors.
Available in five mechanical sizes ranging from 1 to 110 kW, the device supports power supplies between 200 and 480 Vac, with the possibility for common DC-BUS connection. This feature optimizes energy management and simplifies multi-axis system architectures, thereby increasing machine productivity through reduced cycle times and improved energy efficiency.
Key features of the new Maverick servo drive include a compact, robust design that easily fits even in tight spaces. Its modular construction allows high configurability, enabling use as a standalone unit, within multi-axis systems, or as part of integrated drives. This flexibility is ideal for complex multi-axis applications. Two performance levels (standard or advanced) are available to tailor the solution to specific application requirements.
Operational safety is ensured by integrated functions compliant with the latest international standards. All versions include the SIL2-certified Safe Torque Off (STO) function, while advanced models offer additional safety features fully compliant with EN 61800-5-2 and compatible with Safety over EtherCAT (FSoE) protocols. Advanced absolute encoders provide precise and reliable feedback, even in SIL2 safety configurations, ensuring accurate and consistent control, crucial for machines requiring high standards of quality and safety.
Regarding motor feedback compatibility, the drive supports various encoder types, including incremental, absolute BiSS-C, and single-cable DSL, with further options available for specific applications. An optional ESA expansion board is also offered to enhance system functionalities and facilitate integration within more complex architectures.
With power, smart application capabilities, and advanced safety features, ESA’s new servo drive is the ideal solution to meet technological challenges and support Industry 5.0 principles, where innovation and human-machine collaboration shape the future of manufacturing.
