From May 13 to 15, 2025, Esa Automation & Robotics participated in the thirteenth edition of SPS Italy, the leading national exhibition dedicated to industrial automation and digitalization. Held in Parma, the event was a remarkable success, confirming its status as a key reference point for the Italian and European manufacturing industries.
The six halls of the exhibition center hosted approximately 800 exhibitors representing the main sectors of smart industry. The total number of visitors exceeded 37,000, reflecting growing interest in Industry 5.0 technologies such as collaborative robotics, artificial intelligence, mechatronics, and digital production solutions.
Strong Focus on Artificial Intelligence
Among the main highlights of the 2025 edition was the Focus AI thematic area set up in Hall 4. In this space, companies and research centers showcased real-world applications of artificial intelligence in production processes. At the heart of the hall, the Industry Arena hosted sessions dedicated to AI’s role in the sustainable transformation of businesses, exploring benefits related to efficiency, flexibility, and innovation.
The program included over 50 technical and scientific conferences distributed across the Industry, Tech, and Next arenas, covering topics such as sustainability, cybersecurity, the Internet of Things, and industrial digitalization. Notable events included:
- She SPS Italy Award, recognizing projects promoting female entrepreneurship and leadership in technology.
- SPS Italy UP Challenge, a competition for startups and innovative SMEs offering solutions applicable to the industrial sector.
- Maietti Award, honoring the best publication presented at the scientific conference on manufacturing industry and new technological strategies.
Training and Engagement with the Academic World
SPS Italy 2025 placed particular emphasis on youth training and fostering dialogue between companies and educational institutions. Initiatives like Lessons at the Fair and the Education area in Hall 8 encouraged interaction among students, teachers, and businesses, helping align market needs with the skills of new generations. The Academy and Education on Tour projects further strengthened the connection between the production world and academia, promoting careers in technical and scientific fields.
Once again, the fair stood out for its high-quality content, strong participation, and clear focus on the future of industry. The event demonstrated that the integration of technology, artificial intelligence, and sustainability is now essential for business competitiveness. The next appointment is set for May 26-28, 2026, promising new proposals and cutting-edge solutions for Italian and European industry, with the continued participation of Esa Automation & Robotics.
